Real Example: The 1v1 Challenge

Follow step by step how a challenge works, from creation to fund distribution.

1

Challenge creation

Alex creates a challenge with a 10€ stake on FC 25 (PS5). The challenge is published and visible to all players.

swords Challenge created by Alex
🎮 Game: FC 25 🕹️ Platform: PS5 💰 Stake: €10.00 📊 Commission: 1%
2

An opponent joins

Kylian browses available challenges and requests to join Alex's. Alex accepts. Each player's €10 is locked in escrow.

3

Funds are locked

Both stakes (€10 + €10) are automatically locked by the platform. No one can touch them until the match is finished.

🔒 €20.00 in escrow
4

The match is played

Alex and Kylian play their match on PS5. Each confirms they're ready, then they start the game.

5

Result declaration

After the match, each player declares their result. Alex declares victory, Kylian declares defeat. Results match → automatic validation!

6

Fund distribution

Alex won! The platform automatically distributes the funds:

payments Fund breakdown
Total pot (€10 × 2) 20,00 €
Platform commission (1%) -0,20 €
Alex receives 19,80 €
Kylian loses his stake -10,00 €

Real Example: Group + Knockout Tournament

Discover the full flow of an 8-player tournament (2 groups of 4), from creation to prize distribution.

1

The host creates the tournament

Coach Zidane creates an FC 25 tournament on PS5 with 8 slots and a €10 entry fee.

2

Players register

3

Group stage

The host launches the draw. The 8 players are split into 2 groups of 4. Each player faces the 3 others in their group. The top 2 from each group qualify.

Group A

Variant: The Free Tournament

Run an open competition with no stake and no commission, with custom rewards.

In addition to real-money tournaments, The 1vs1 offers a second competition system: the free tournament. Registration is completely free, no money is staked or held in escrow, and the platform takes no commission. Instead of a cash prize pool, the host freely defines text-described rewards (a LAN final slot, a physical prize, a gift card, a simple honorary title, etc.). The competitive flow is identical to a paid tournament.

1

The host creates a free tournament

Coach Zidane creates an FC 25 tournament on PS5, selects the "Free" entry type and describes the rewards. Like any tournament, it is subject to admin approval before publication.

📋 Format: Groups + Knockout 👥 Players: 16 💰 Entry: Free 📊 Commission: None
🥇 1st: Qualifying slot for the LAN final 🥈 2nd: Signed jersey 🥉 3rd: "Veteran" profile badge
2

Players register for free

16 players join the tournament without paying anything. No amount is deducted from their wallet and no funds are locked. For a private tournament, the host approves each request.

3

The tournament is played normally

Draw, groups, knockout stage, result declaration, conflict resolution by the host, forfeit after 1h absence: the competitive flow is exactly the same as a paid tournament.

4

Reward attribution

At closing, the platform automatically assigns each winner the reward described by the organizer. No money is distributed and no commission is taken — the organizer is responsible for actually delivering the announced rewards.

🥉 "Veteran" badge

Third system: the Host-Funded Prize Pool

The host puts up the money: free entry for players, real-money prizes funded by the organizer.

This is The 1vs1's third competition system, halfway between the paid and the free tournament. Players register for free, but the prizes are real money: the host fully funds the prize pool from their own wallet. At creation, the total prizes plus a 2% platform commission is debited from the host's wallet and held in escrow by The 1vs1. The competitive flow is identical to the other tournaments; at closing, the top 3 share the pool funded by the host.

1

The host creates the tournament and funds the pool

Coach Zidane creates an FC 25 tournament on PS5, selects the "Host-funded pool" entry type and sets the prizes himself: €50 / €30 / €20 (total €100).

volunteer_activism Tournament "Sponsor Cup"
📋 Format: Single elim. 👥 Players: 8 💰 Entry: Free 🏦 Pool: €100.00 (host-funded)
🥇 1st: €50.00 🥈 2nd: €30.00 🥉 3rd: €20.00
2

The host's funds are locked

At creation, €102 is debited from the host's wallet (€100 prizes + €2 platform commission) and held in escrow by The 1vs1. If the tournament is rejected by an admin, cancelled or suspended, the host is fully refunded.

3

Players register for free

8 players join the tournament without paying anything. No amount is deducted from their wallet: the pool is already funded by the host.

4

The tournament is played normally

Draw, matches, result declaration, conflict resolution by the host, forfeit after 1h absence: the competitive flow is exactly the same as the other tournaments.

5

Fund distribution

At closing, the platform automatically distributes the host's pool to the top 3. The host gets nothing back (they sponsored the tournament); The 1vs1 keeps the 2% commission.

payments Prize pool breakdown
Total debited from host (€100 prizes + €2 commission) 102,00 €
🥇 1st receives 50,00 €

Security FAQ

Our system detects the disconnect point. If a player intentionally disconnects while losing, they forfeit the match. If it's a technical error, we offer a rematch protocol.
Winnings are credited instantly to your wallet after result validation. Withdrawals to your bank account or PayPal are processed within 24 to 48 hours.
Yes, you can play without Twitch for standard matches. However, for high-stakes matches (€50+), a live Twitch stream is required as proof of integrity.
If both players claim to have won, a dispute is automatically opened. Our team reviews the evidence (screenshots, Twitch replay) and renders a decision within 24 hours. Funds remain in escrow during resolution.
To create a tournament or make your first withdrawal, you must submit a valid ID (national ID card, passport, or driver's license). Our team verifies your document within 24 to 48 hours. Your documents are stored securely and deleted after validation.
Yes! Any verified user (validated identity, linked Google account, 2FA enabled) can create a tournament. You first choose the entry type: paid (entry fee, real-money prize pool secured in escrow by The 1vs1), free (€0 entry, text-described rewards, no commission) or host-funded (free entry for players, real-money prizes you fund from your wallet, 2% platform commission). You then set the format (single elimination or groups), number of players, and prize or reward distribution.
If the host or The 1vs1 cancels a tournament, all confirmed participants are fully refunded. Entry fees are automatically returned to their wallet. No fees are charged in case of cancellation.
For challenges, the commission (usually 1%) is deducted from the total pot, and the rest goes to the winner. For paid tournaments, the host receives the difference between entry fees and prizes, minus a 2% platform fee. For host-funded tournaments, a 2% platform commission is calculated on the total prizes and debited from the host at creation (the top 3 share the full announced prizes). Free tournaments generate no commission at all: no stake, no fee, no deduction. All rates are transparently displayed before each transaction.
You must be at least 18 years old to register and participate on The 1vs1. This is verified during registration and may be confirmed through identity verification (KYC). Underage accounts will be suspended and funds refunded.
2FA adds an extra layer of security to your account. Each time you log in, a unique code is sent to your email address. You must enter it to access your account. We strongly recommend enabling 2FA, especially if you have funds in your wallet.
A free tournament works like a regular tournament (formats, groups, brackets, conflict handling) but with no stake: registration is €0, no funds are held in escrow and The 1vs1 takes no commission. Rewards are not monetary: they are freely described in text by the organizer (a prize, an event slot, an honorary title, etc.). Actually delivering these rewards is the sole responsibility of the tournament organizer; The 1vs1 only acts as a technical platform and does not take part in their distribution.
In this third system, entry is free for players but the prizes are real money, funded by the organizer. When the tournament is created, the total prizes (1st + 2nd + 3rd) plus a 2% platform commission is debited from the host's wallet and held in escrow by The 1vs1. Players register without paying anything. At closing, the top 3 share the pool; the host receives no commission (they are the sponsor) and The 1vs1 keeps the 2%. If the tournament is rejected by an admin, cancelled or suspended, the host is fully refunded.
